Welcome to the PuzzleUp; a problem and games site where each week a different problem is put accross for you to think on and try to solve.

The fundamental aim of this site is to support and raise persons of the information age who have highly developed capabilities of thinking, perceiving and problem solving and who are able to interpret different cultures and contribute to contemporary civilisation.

To keep us on track and give us direction we look forward to hearing your criticisms and suggestions.

Hoping that wisdom, peace and love will master the future of the world we live in.

We regret to see that the solutions of some puzzleup problems are shared on various websites.

This is a great disrespect to Mr. Emrehan Halıcı, who is composing the problems with enthusiasm and care, and to you who worked hard to solve them.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to prevent these attempts. Canceling a problem for this reason is also a great injustice to those who solve it.

PuzzleUp is the place for those who enjoy thinking and problem solving and act in accordance with the ethical rules.

We will continue on our way without considering the problems that may be caused by those who do not comply with this.

   [TWO SQUARES] Clarification Needed

Please clarify: Can the corner of one square lie on a side (but not a corner) of the other, as long as they have no area or corners in common?

   [CANDIES]

Hi Puzzleup folks,
Is it not possible to remove the sentence: “Then the places of the boxes will be changed randomly.” ? Since you are already choosing a box randomly, the locations of the boxes should not matter, right?
Thanks,
Clive Dawson

clivedaw - November 25, 2020 - 11:21

You are right. But in order to avoid possible ambiguities that sentence has been added to the problem text.

   [TIME DIFFERENCES] well-prepared question

According to question, it is said that numerical. it is not asked the difference between years or months.By the way it is a perfect problem. Thanks Emrehan Halıcı

   [TIME DIFFERENCES] Ambiguity In Question

There is some ambiguity as to how to interpret date string. For example 2806531749 -- as 28.06.1953 17:49 or 28.06.2053 17:49 ?

bolucpap - November 12, 2020 - 09:31
   [TIME DIFFERENCES] leading 0

is january 8th 1989 23:46 written as 0108892346 or 108892346?

angel - November 11, 2020 - 21:51
   TIME DIFFERENCES

I guess "numerical difference" means the difference between the two 10-digit numbers?
(Because there is no maximum for time difference.)
